"In recognition of the eminent services rendered to practical medicine by the late Dr. Charles Murchison, whose early death is universally deplored, it has been decided to institute a fitting memorial of him. " After full consideration on the part of his friends, colleagues and pupils, it was recently determined that this Memorial should take the form of a Scholarship in Clinical Medicine, to be competed for alternately in London and Edinburgh. In addition to this, it is proposed to erect within St. Thomas's Hospital, to which Dr. Murchison was physician, a bust, or other personal memorial. For this object a sum of ?300
